Hero Pet Health

Your dog's paw licking might start in the gut, not the skin.

It sounds back to front until you notice the licking, the smelly farts and the upset tummy all happening at once.

What owners notice first

Does any of this sound like your dog?

Paws licked raw at night

You hear the licking or chewing from the other room, always after everyone has settled in for the night.

Runny poo, again

Solid one week, all over the place the next. Same food, same walks, a different story in the yard.

Farts that clear the room

Same time every evening, and the whole room knows about it.

Itchy when seasons change

Scratching, rubbing along the carpet, chewing at their sides. Always worse when the weather turns.

That yeasty ear smell

Head shaking, and ears that smell funky again a few days after every clean.

One of these on its own might not raise any alarms.

When three show up together, we call it a Flare-Up.

When a few things start happening at once, it’s worth wondering if there’s more to it.

Marie Ryan with her dog

“Our dog was constantly licking their paws and has improved considerably!”

The flare-up cycle

Why does it keep coming back?

A sad puppy lying between a bag of new food, a shampoo bottle and a paw cream tube

You fix one thing, then another pops up.

The paws settle down. Then the ears flare up. The poo improves. Then the licking starts again.

It can feel like you’re always treating the next symptom.

What if there’s somewhere else worth looking?

Start on the inside

What happens in the gut doesn’t always stay in the gut.

Your dog’s gut does so much more than digest dinner. And the odd half-chewed tennis ball.

A puppy licking a sore paw, with a red ear, an upset gut and runny poo

It also plays an important role in digestion and immune function.

So when things are out of balance in the gut, the signs can show up in all sorts of ways.4 Paws. Skin. Ears. Poo. Gas.

That’s why we start with the gut.

It's working!

Our staffie girl was doing a lot of paw licking, and slopping her chops and burping more than normal, but after two and bit packets of the daily probiotic chews, these symptoms are a lot better! Thanks Hero pet health!

So stoked with how these are working

I never thought I would be buying dog probiotics or that they would ever have such an impact on my dog but here we are! Better poos, better breath, better mood, stopped paw licking almost completely - I couldn't recommend these enough!!

Made a huge difference

My pup stevie has had runny poos for a while and wasnt really that energetic. After about 10 days on the probiotics his guts were so much better and he has been in such a better mood generally. Awesome stuff.

No more runny poos 💩

Our staffy has been dealing with runny or not fully solid poos so we decided to give these a try. We've been pleasantly surprised that in a few days he's completely cleared up and going to the toilet like normal! 10/10

Absolutely love these!

These treats have been amazing for my 4 your old! Stopped licking his paws, and I've noticed his coat has been strangely softer? I spoke with my vet and apparently this is linked to gut health and can be helped with probiotics which is something I didn't even know. I would definitely recommend to anyone who's unsure about their dog.

Kayla

Have only been using Hero Probiotics a little over a week while Kayla wont eat them as a treat(very fussy dog) so we crush them and mix them with her weetbix and goats milk,we can't believe how well she is,highly recomend these if your dog has a funny gut

fantastic product and seeing improvements

these have been fantastic! charlie was a little bit unsure about them at first but once he started eating them he doesnt want to stop. his coat has become much softer and he is much more regular when going to the toilet. only giving 4 stars because the first few times i gave them to him he would lick it a few times but then i had to keep giving it to him or break it up a little bit until he would eat it. he now eats them straight away every time and follows me around with the packet but im not sure if he was just getting used to the flavour or something else? that aside i would highly recommend these if youre considering buying but you might need to help your dog a bit if they are a little fussy

The gut reset

Eight weeks, one simple daily habit

The licking, the runny poo, the wind, the itch, the smelly ears.

Different symptoms, often one shared starting point: the gut. Eight weeks of a daily probiotic gives the microbiome steady support to rebalance, and gives you enough time to see what changes. If it doesn't work for your dog, you get your money back. No time limit.

  • Daily chews, dosed to your dog's weight
  • A week-by-week guide of what to watch
  • Free shipping, straight to your door
  • Lifetime money-back guarantee, no time limit

Why eight weeks?

Think of it less like taking a painkiller and more like changing a routine.

The work starts on the inside, but the things you notice on the outside can take time.

Week by week

What to expect

Probiotics, prebiotics and fibre support the gut over time. Eight consistent weeks gives you a much better picture of what's changing than judging it after a few days.

Dog finishing its meal at its bowl
Week 2

Settling in

The chew becomes part of the daily routine. Gut changes start below the surface first, so don't expect many outward signs yet.

Dog resting on a rug at home in the evening
Week 4

Early signs

Some owners notice early signs around now, such as firmer stools. Every dog is different.

Dog out on a walk on a bright day
Week 8

The full runway

This is where the fuller picture tends to show. Steadier poos, less paw licking, calmer ears, fewer farts that clear the room. Published dog gut trials typically ran about this long before results were assessed. Keep going.

Week 12

Built to last

Daily support is simply part of your dog's day now, with room for benefits to keep building.
