Meet the founders

Ollie and Geordie met while working together and quickly developed a friendship, bonding over their shared love of marketing and entrepreneurship. Both dog lovers, they understood the special place that a pet held in your life, and what it meant to lose them. This bond was the start of Hero.

Oliver Tinley

Co-Founder

I've always considered myself a dog person, having grown up with dogs in my family my whole childhood. But it wasn't until Archie and Eli, my two kelpies came into my life did I really understand what it meant to be a dog person. The unconditional love, always ready to have fun, go on an adventure or just cuddle up in bed is what makes them such a huge part of my life. They're my inspiration for starting Hero.

Like all dogs, they bring so much joy and happiness, but their bodies can't last forever. After our family border collie got sick and the vet said there was nothing we could do, the feeling of helplessness was overwhelming. I don't want anyone else to feel the way our family did that day. There has to be more we can do than just react when things go wrong.

For us, Hero represents a new approach to pet health. A preventative approach centred around giving our dogs, our heroes, the best chance at a longer, healthier life.

Geordie Frost

Co-Founder

I grew up on a farm in south-west Western Australia and had many pets from the day I was born. When I was two we got a border collie-kelpie cross puppy and he was immediately my best friend. We grew up together and my best childhood memories were with him involved. When he was 14 he developed pancreatitis and became very sick.

I'll never forget my last moments with him, or our 14 years together. It made me realise how special that bond was and how I will never take that time for granted.

Like Ollie, we aren't just the founders of a pet supplement company. We are dog people. We understand what it means when you lose a pet, and the strong desire to want to be a hero for them, and give them the best life possible. That's our inspiration for everything we do at Hero.
